Tea Ceremony 茶席
Our tea ceremony in Madrid became a space where traditional Japanese aesthetics and contemporary art quietly resonated with one another.
Exquisite tea bowls and ceramics by Kiyomizu Rokubei VII were placed alongside works by contemporary artists Lawrence Weiner, Álvaro Urbano, and Anuel M. Romaro, creating an environment where tradition and modernity naturally converged.
The way of tea is a practice that honors silence and finds beauty in simplicity. At this gathering, the meeting of expressions from different eras deepened the contemplative atmosphere. Within the stillness, guests could surrender to the sensory moments of the ceremony—the sound of water being poured, the warmth of the tea bowl settling into hand. Each detail quietly revealed the present moment itself.
Featured Artists:
Laurence Weiner, Alvaro Urbano, Manuel M. Romaro, Baltasar Lobo, LUGÁN (Luis García Núñez), Arisa Kumagai and Blanca Madruga.
